Our Policy
Placement test:
If you have some French language skills, you will receive a
placement test before enrollment to choose the correct instruction
level (not for
complete beginners). There is no placement test fee.
Payment of fee:
- For your convenience, each session is made of four
classes. Payment for the session must be made, by check, cash or money
order, on the first day of class. A 10% surcharge will be added to
tuition not paid by the end of the first week of class. The student
will not be accepted at the second week of class if the payment is not
provided. If your payment is returned (e.g. a NSF cheque) it must be
replaced with a certified cheque, cash or money order. An additional
charge of $25 is levied. We regret that we cannot accept partial
payments.
Discounts:
- Continuing registration:
- For the first time registration, the student shall
pay the full tuition fee. When registering for the next session and
only before the end of the running session, the student is entitled to
a 5% discount for his second session, 10% for his third session and 15%
for all following sessions. In case of an interruption, the discount no
longer applies, and a new cycle begins.
- Family registration:
- The first member of the family pays full tuition
fee. The second family member is entitled to a 10% discount, the third
family member 15% (spouse, parents and children only).
Refunds:
Due to our obligations to our instructors, no refunds can be made.
Withdrawal:
If a student is forced to abandon a course before the middle of a
session for reasons beyond his/her control, credit may be granted for
the portion of the session remaining at the time a written notice of
withdrawal is received by French on the Run. All cancellations must be
received in writing in the form of an email or letter (postmark
establishing the date of the request). Please state the number of
classes attended, and the reason for the cancellation. Credits will
automatically apply towards registration for another course. They
cannot be transferred to another person and are valid for one year only.
Private Lessons:
Once purchased, lessons must be used within a six weeks period. For
a cancellation or a change of appointment, at least a 24 hours notice
is required. If not, payment for the class will be due. Moreover, an
appointment can only be canceled and rescheduled twice.
Group Classes
- Small classes of approximately 6
students are ongoing. New students may join at any time. New classes
may begin at any time.
- French on the Run reserves the right to divide,
combine or cancel classes should it be deemed necessary. Courses
typically are canceled due to insufficient enrollment (a minimum of 4
students is required) or the unavailability of the instructor. If you
are registered in a course that is canceled, you will be notified by
telephone or mail and given the option to transfer to another course or
to be fully refunded.
- A minimum of 5 students is required to open a class, with a maximum 7 students per class.
- Make-up classes: For an additional fee of $50 per hour, make-up classes can be arranged for students who miss classes.
